Tech Immersion Program
As reported by idTech, fewer than half of the schools in the US offer computer science classes and only 20% of US high school graduates are prepared for college-level coursework in STEM majors. This is where we come in. At SSF we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of generational poverty through STEM education.
Our Tech Immersion Program is a unique opportunity for companies to take an active role in DE&I work. By combining your company’s professional tech expertise with our proven model of student STEM education and mentorship, we can offer a variety of learning experiences to students in need.
Description
Host a 15 month program with the Shooting Stars Foundation where students will experience all of the programs listed
- Web coding camp
- Data science camp
- Cybersecurity camp
- Tech Entrepreneurship camp
- Hackathon (100+ students)
Reach
25 students from underrepresented backgrounds
Employee Volunteers
Because this is a program that spans over a year we can accept different volunteers for each event, allowing for maximum company engagement. We can accept upto 100 volunteers – because we are virtual, employees can engage remotely, allowing for volunteers from around the globe!
Deliverables
- Publication of event on our website and all SSF social media
- A summary article and presentation which will include:
- Impact of the program
- Qualitative and quantitative results of the program
- Student and parent testimonials
- Professionally done LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram posts
- A 3 minute video overview of the entire program and it's impact
- Possibility to hire these students as interns
