Program Goal

To help introduce high school students to various aspects of sustainability – economic, social and environmental

About the Camp

  • Learn economic, social and environmental aspects of sustainability
  • Publish a research paper on specific sustainability idea or a project
  • Learn sustainable programs in different industries – automotive, semiconductor, clothing, software! 
  • Explore different majors/careers and certifications on Sustainability
  • Learn from and collaborate with professional mentors 

SSF has partnered with Green Building Educational Services (www.gbes.com) to bring sustainable concepts in buildings to high school students. In this camp, GBES will offer “GB 101” course and a FREE exam prep access to write the LEED Green Associate exam. Most modern buildings are required to be LEED certified https://www.usgbc.org/leed. Peer Mentors

Nivetha Subramanian is a junior at Valley Christian Schools in San Jose. She is a certified LEED Green Associate. Her interests include sustainability, public policy, speech and debate. You can read some of her blogs about climate change at

Vishal Swamy, a sophomore at Novi High School in Michigan, is the National Vice President of the Shooting Stars Foundation. He has organized multiple entrepreneurship and chess camps, including an All-Girls Tech Immersion program. Vishal also established the Shooting Stars Chess Academy and founded the Michigan State Chapter. His leadership has raised over $50,000 and positively influenced 300+ high school students globally.
