Computer Science Engineering - Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, INDIA
Born in the small city of Hubli in Karnataka, India, Shriraksha Malagannavar was brought up in a middle class family consisting of her younger brother, mother, and father. Shriraksha’s mother is a housewife while her dad works full-time as a security guard at an ATM. Due to the minimal income her family generates, it is very difficult for her father to manage the fees of both her and her brother’s education. Her brother is currently studying in his second year of electronics and communication in hopes of getting a diploma. Until her SSLC, Shriraksha completed her education through a government funded school and then continued to PUC with the help of Vidya Poshak, where she studied science. After receiving good grades on her KCET exam in 2018, she was selected into the SDMCET computer science branch. Her interest in computer science began in PUC, where the concepts of coding and technology motivated her to pursue a career in the software field.
Because her family is financially unstable, Shriraksha uses her hours after college to help out her mother at home and read novels online. After her schooling, she wishes to get a job to repay the loan she has taken for her education. In order for Shriraksha to achieve her life long goal of becoming a developer in the engineering field, the help from the sponsorship will allow her to continue her education. She states that the sponsorship provided will only go towards school related activities, and that she will go on to get a degree which will help her qualify for a job in a software company and sustain her family’s needs.
